Our Story

Why Payung Adil Exists

Payung Adil was established in Kuching with a straightforward purpose: to help people in Sarawak understand and act on their pension entitlements. Many individuals spend years in employment without fully knowing what they have accumulated or how to access it when the time comes. When delays or disputes arise, the process can feel opaque and discouraging.

We set out to change that experience. Our founding belief is that pension matters should be handled with patience and clarity — not treated as routine administrative tasks. Each client brings a personal history, and we take the time to understand it before offering any guidance.

Over time, we have supported individuals at various stages of retirement planning, assisted with contested claims, and helped families put proper arrangements in place. Our approach has remained consistent throughout: steady, respectful, and focused on what the client actually needs.

Our Mission

Making Pension Matters Manageable

We believe that every person approaching retirement deserves a clear picture of their position. Our mission is to provide that picture, and to walk alongside clients as they make decisions that will shape their later years.

Clarity

We translate legal and administrative language into plain terms so clients can follow what is happening at every stage.

Patience

We do not push clients towards decisions. We present options carefully and allow each person to proceed at their own pace.

Discretion

Client information is handled with full confidentiality. We do not share details beyond what is necessary to advance a matter.

Bar Council Compliance

Our legal advisers operate in accordance with the standards of the Malaysian Bar and the Advocates Association of Sarawak, maintaining professional conduct at all times.

Written Engagements

All client engagements are set out in writing before work begins, so both parties understand the scope, fees, and expected process.

Data Protection

Client records and personal data are stored securely and handled in line with Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010. Information is not shared without client consent.

We update clients on the status of their matter at agreed intervals. You are not left to wonder — we come to you with information as it develops.

We carry out conflict checks before accepting new matters. Where a conflict exists, we will advise you and, where appropriate, help you identify alternative support.

Continuing Legal Education

Our team keeps abreast of changes in pension legislation, EPF regulations, and public sector pension schemes to ensure advice reflects current law.

Pension Legal Services in Sarawak

A Considered Approach to Retirement Legal Support

Pension matters in Malaysia are governed by several overlapping frameworks — the Employees Provident Fund Act, the Pensions Act, the Statutory Bodies (Discipline and Surcharge) Act, and various public service circulars. For individuals navigating these frameworks without professional support, the path from question to resolution is rarely straightforward.

Payung Adil was formed in Kuching specifically to fill this gap for Sarawak residents. We work with individuals who are approaching retirement, those who have encountered delays in receiving pension payments, and those who need help structuring nominee and family provisions ahead of time. Our work is focused and intentional — we do not take on matters outside our area of competence.

Our office is located in central Kuching, accessible to clients from across the Kuching division. We see clients by appointment and are available to discuss matters by telephone for those who find travel difficult. Where appropriate, we can arrange visits for elderly or unwell clients.

Sarawak residents are entitled to the same standard of pension protection and information as those in any other part of Malaysia. Payung Adil exists to help ensure that entitlement translates into practical support when it is needed most.
